The Good, The Bad And The Ugly About Auctionads
At the end of last month, I figured out a way to make about $50 - $100 a day with Auctionads. It brought me $500 fairly quickly and this month was going well. My average was up around $70 per day on roughly 300 clicks a day. Then, 3 days ago, I earned $0. Nothing, Nada. I checked and I still had my 300 clicks, so it wasn’t a down turn in traffic. I chalked it up to one of those days. Then, the next day was exactly the same. Again I did not earn a single red cent on about 300 clicks. This is starting to look strange, but you know how this stuff goes. I decided to give it one more day.
That day got here and again, not a single dollar earned. Now I’m starting to get worried, so I decided to use their contact form to see if the earning reports were being delayed. I actually was hoping this was the case because October was on a roll. After a few days, not a single word from Auctionads.com. Which brings me to the point of this post. I want to discuss the Good, the Bad the Ugly about Auctionads from a revenue generation and customer interaction standpoint.
The Good
- They pay very promptly. This is mega important for any sort of client/affiliate relationship and they have it down.
- They pay via paypal. Some might say this is bad, but I love it. It sure beats the heck out of waiting for a check or direct deposit to clear.
- They have a great looking website. Ok, maybe not so important, but it is on the side of Good.
The Bad
- They lack the hands on touch you get from other affiliate companies. It’s one thing to not have an affiliate manager, but something entirely different to not be able to have the basic communication needed to keep up with any issues.
- They lack any sort of support forum. Not just a forum, but do they have any kind of support staff?
- That nice looking website is very, very sparse about what exactly Auctionads is and how it works.
- There tracking system is terrible. It’s all based on a hand entered campaign number that you have to do one at a time as well as attaching the code to the link via their webpage. Considering Commision Junctions tracking system and the fact that they should be using CJ like the rest of us, the least they could do is pass some of that data back through to their affiliates so we can tell what we are actually getting paid for.
- There is no way to verify that I am actually getting paid for what I should be. I don’t know if it is actually paying more than CJ due to the combined affiliates and Ebay’s tiered payout system.
The Ugly
- Shoemoney’s involved! Nah, I’m just throwing crap out their.
So, if you are considering using Auctionads for your website, know what you are getting into. Yes, it does seem to pay a lot better than Adsense, but I’ll be damned if I know what I’m actually getting paid for. So, if you don’t mind putting up with the lack of information and enjoy prompt payment, then I suggest you sign up for Auctionads as well. It’s making me money. I just don’t know how.
Oh and for the record, I finally saw $9.00 on day 4. Guess I had a bought of bad luck. It sure would be nice if Auctionads would confirm that.
